You know that plant that you buy for $20 at Christmas time, but find impossible to keep alive for longer than a few months? Well we have them here, and they live for years. This is a picture of a poinsettia tree (that’s right… I said tree), which is probably 20 years old and 20 feet high. I would say they are probably not indigenous to Kenya, but someone many years ago thought it would be great in the landscaping, and now they are seen all over the place. By the way, if you zoom in and look at the gray corner stone to the left of the tree, you may be able to make out the inscription “Laid By Hon. T. Roosevelt Aug 4 1909” That would be the late President Teddy Roosevelt… but that’s a different story for another day.
