Cape Wolf Snake

This is the Cape Wolf snake.  It is very common around here, harmless, and docile.  But unfortunately for this cuddly lovable little guy, so many people see it and immediately think “Black mamba!!!” and the next think you know, the head is missing.  They don’t actually live in trees.  I just thought the green color would make a nice contrast for the picture.  These snakes love to hide under leaves and logs and in holes.
